# Opening app links

> What to do when email, push notification, review, message, or listing links do not open in the app

# Opening app links

Some links from The Animal Traders can open directly in the app when you have the iPhone or Android app installed. Push notifications can also open the related app screen.

## Links that can open in the app

App links may take you to:

* a listing
* a seller or member profile
* a message thread
* your messages
* the review flow
* the notification center
* the Sell dashboard
* the listing review step for Extend or Renew

## If you are signed out

If you open an app link while signed out, sign in with the account that should have access to that screen.

After sign-in, the app tries to return you to the link you originally opened. For example, a review reminder should bring you back to the review flow after you sign in.

## If a link opens the website instead of the app

Try these steps:

1. Confirm the app is installed on the device.
2. Update to the latest available app build.
3. Sign in to the app, then open the link again.
4. Copy the link from your email or browser and open it from the same device.

On iPhone and Android, your device decides whether a supported link opens in the app or in the browser. If the app is not installed, the link opens on the web.

## If a link opens the app but not the right screen

The link may point to content that is no longer available, or you may be signed in with an account that cannot access it.

Try:

* confirming you are signed in with the correct account
* opening the related listing, profile, message, or notification directly
* refreshing the app
* asking the sender to share the link again

## Notification and email links

Notification emails and push notifications can link to screens such as messages, reviews, feedback reminders, proposals, listing renewal actions, or notification preferences.

Push notifications require the iPhone or Android app. If your device blocks notifications for The Animal Traders, you may still receive in-app or email notifications depending on your settings.

## Listing expiration links

Listing expiration emails may include **Extend your listing** or **Renew your listing**. These links open the listing flow at the review step in manage mode so you can review duration and continue the listing action.

If the app is not installed, the same link opens on the web. If you are signed out, sign in with the seller account or organization member account that can manage the listing.

## Review and feedback links

Review requests and reminders may open the review flow after a completed transaction. Sellers may also receive feedback reminders that open pending buyer feedback.
